The Challenge:
Long before the company was created in 1993, Louis Colombani needed a reliable solution to develop his evolving software solution for archival services. At the time he needed to produce a cross-platform solution quickly and easy to maintain over time. He finally settled on Omnis after trying several software solutions. Omnis had a rapid learning curve and was easy to implement. Over the years Omnis Studio has been a reliable solution for the development of Arkhéïa, the software solutions we maintain for our archivist clients.
The Solution:
Arkhéïa has been a reliable solution for its users ever since the 1990s. Composed of several modules, Arkhéïa offers a complete solution: from the management of archival repositories to the production of EAD compliant finding aids. Over the years, Anaphore has been able to deliver a solid software solution able to respond to the international standards and norms of archival description.
Arkhéïa users are professional archivists who handle as little as a few linear meters of documents, when in small repositories, to ones that store over 80 kilometers of archival documents.
The Company:
Anaphore is based in Provence in southern France. The company has been working with public and private archival repositories in France and in the Caribbean for over 30 years. Their clients are public archives & repositories, including archives départementales, archives des métropoles ou archives municipales; archives des établissements publics comme Collège de France, la Fondation de la Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (FMSH), etc.; archives privées comme le Groupe SEB.
