Euromnis 2026the conference organized by developers for developers

The countdown is on to 25th Euromnis Conference held in Arnhem, Netherlands from October 4th to 9th, 2026. It is just shy of 10 weeks away. You still have time to register.

I remember attending the first Euromnis Conference in 1998. This was the era of the great transition from Omnis 7 to Studio 1.0. The conference really helped me understand how this new object oriented coding paradigm could support us designing more robust applications. We were in awe.

Each subsequent Euromnis conference showcased advances in Studio such as the advent of thin-client, js-client, workers, rest interfaces, the IDE, oBrowser, performance analysis and more. In addition, conference topics introduced companion tool that are now in widespread use like: Postgres, Sentry, automated builds, testing harnesses, graphic dashboards, xcomp like javascript controls, inter system messaging protocols like Kafka, internet-of-things devices, GPS tracking and Carplay/Android auto techniques, cloud setups and more. Topics showed how to expand the capabilities of the Studio ecosystem as it worked with the outside world.

AI is a key topic (in keeping with the times)

This year is another such watershed. AI sessions discuss

    • planning and selection of AI models,
    • scaling hardware to run the models sufficient to needs
    • GDPR implications,
    • integration of AI with Studio in real products,
    • code building and more.

There will also be an AI forum.

Omnis 12 is out, with AI features and modern gestures that support desktop apps (swipe, rotate, pinch to zoom).

The main goal of the conference has always been a deep dive into advanced technology, highlighting Studio and companion tools to enhance what a developer can do with Studio. Speakers often provide code that works.

We hope to see you there.

    Sincerely

Marten Verhoeven, Mirko Pepa, Rob Mostyn, Stefan Diefenbacher, Doug Easterbrook

PS: A note about the Euromnis Organization Process.

The organizers who volunteer to create the conference are Omnis developers with many years experience. Each of us have created commercial products centred around Studio. As such, we keep an eye on trends in other software products which support Studio application development. This includes tools like Git, Jenkins, Postgres, Sentry, Kafka, Brainy Data products (oCal, oWrite, oGantt, oSpell, etc), testing harnesses, deployment tools, various Microsoft products, Apple and Android eco systems (such as integrating car play with js client), and now, AI especially.

We look for speakers who are using products or ideas that assist Omnis development and bring them and participants together at a very hands on event. The goal is to share the ideas and concepts, along with working code that you can take home with you.

At each Euromnis, I found new things to incorporate into my commercial application. Those ideas (and code) more than paid for the price of attending the conference. Attendees that come year after year have confirmed similar benefits for their own applications.

This is a good year to attend
