  • Server not serving – activation issue

Posted by Uwe Smidt on October 24, 2026 at 1:36 pm

    Hi $folks,

My Omnis Headless server CE is not serving, due to activation issues. It used to serve, with the activation.ticket installed in the correct directory, but without any changes on my behalf, it now says:

× homnis120.service - Omnis Headless App Server Service
Loaded: loaded (/etc/systemd/system/homnis120.service; enabled; preset: enabled)
Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Sat 2026-10-24 15:27:25 CEST; 985ms ago

    Oct 24 15:27:25 omnis-on-ionos systemd[1]: homnis120.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.

    Any ideas why?

    Best regards
    Uwe

Check if the port is free or occupied

      Hi Mats,
      Thanks for your help!

The problem however was not related to ports, but to the licensing mechanism.

After deleting the ‘license.lic’ file, my activation could be renewed.
