  • Tab order not working on window component droplist

Posted by Ivan Arman on November 25, 2025 at 10:43 am

    Hi,

I can’t get my window component droplist to work in the tab order, it seams there is no way to get it to focus, it only responds to mouse click.

I cant find any documentation on the subject and I see the same in the HUB:s sample “List Boxes”, that tab dos not work.

I am working on a Mac with Omnis Studio 11.1

Yes, the droplist is enabled and visible.

Has anyone knowledge about this situation? Are window component list boxes not focusable, aka in the tab order?

    Hi,

For system droplists to take focus using the Tab key, you must allow full keyboard navigation in the macOS system
    settings.

If you do not want to enable this setting, you can change the droplist‘s $backgroundtheme to kBGThemeNone or kBGThemeWindow.
This can be done in #STYLES, or alternatively, you can clear $fieldstyle before changing $backgroundtheme.

When you change the theme from kBGThemeControl, the drop list is no longer a system drop list.

Thanks, the background theme thing solved my issue.
