  • Omnis goes PlantUml with C4 Plugin, but how do I write the content to a file

Posted by Rainer Greim on February 7, 2025 at 7:56 pm

Hi, Im still playing around with the Community Edition to make a fast prototype based on a datadriven approach for P-Diagrams based on C4 with Plantuml as the engine. I have a sample for my fatclient (VFP), but Im stumbling to do the same with a Omnis Web Form and write to disk. From the past with my fat client Omnis time I did It with FileOps. Do I have to this with Javascript in the Form ? Or can I still to it with a lib from Omnis inside ?

Sometimes the easy things are hard. Thank you. BTW. I do already the same approach to do WPS and project planning ( gant) with PlantUml.

    Thx Rainer

      Hello Rainer,

You are welcome. I am glad you found my technical note.

Also there is a sample library in the HUB that shows how to import or export when using a remote form: jsFileUploadDownload

      Best,

      Andreas

Hello Andreas, Im still enjoying your samples and notes.

The thing for bringing light in my brain is to make clear: your are seeing it from the viewpoint of a client server app, not as Fat Client. ( File Upload / Download,,,,)

I have my 1st sample running ( Datadriven P-Diagrams on the fly with Plant Uml) . On Wednesday I will use it to promote Omnis in-house. After all those years, I still enjoy doing things with Omnis.

Calendar is blocked for Wesel. Hope I meet you in person an again.

        Rainer
