    hi $all.

I’m excited to announce Marten as a speaker at Euromnis 2025, October 5- 10 in Arnhem, Netherlands.

He will be talking about the learnings of his internal AI task force from the past couple of years. His entire team spends at least one day a week working out the various issues, processes, hardware, databases, machine learning (ML), large language models (LLM) etc required to implement this technology privately within VanBeek (his employer).

After listening to Marten about his session, they are well on their way.

Marten will explain how generative AI and LLMs function, and how to run local models on affordable hardware setups. You’ll also learn how Marten extracted structured information from PDFs using advanced visual models, and the current work in progress to implement Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) with embeddings stored in Postgres or specialized vector databases.

This session goes beyond the generalized concepts of AI. Marten tells me you will receive practical tutorial how to apply this technology effectively within your Omnis business applications as well as demonstrations.

Organization for the conference is coming along well. There are 16 speakers, 26 different topics involving omnis in one way or another, all presented in 34 session slots. We’ve opened up from 3 simultaneous tracks to 4 this year. While we are already at last year’s attendance numbers, we’d love to have 4 or 5 more people come. Love to see you there.
