Content management solution speeds up media asset publishing and procurement

Introducing Opix: Based in Berlin, Germany, Opix AG develops and markets a high-performance enterprise database system for Workflow and Media Asset Management called Opix Media City. The system has two main modules: 1) Media Factory where content is compiled and managed in digital job bags and readied for automated production; and 2) Media Warehouse where media assets are hosted for publishing, repurposing, distribution, storage and procurement. Opix uses Omnis Studio to create the GUI for the database client, described by customers as both easy to use and advanced in performance.
 

Why we chose Omnis: When Opix started out in business in 1994 developing database applications, Omnis was the only sensible solution on the market that supported both Mac and PC clients. All other competing solutions we investigated only supported one or the other platform which meant that programs would have had to be written twice - once for Mac and once again for PC. Product development at Opix is fast and furious so we needed a solution that was in effect write once, run anywhere!
 
Why we continue to use Omnis: Studio is a very efficient, state of the art tool that lets us get new product development ideas off the drawing board in no time. This allows us to be truly responsive to our customers' needs and stay ahead of the competition. Comparatively the runtime version of Omnis Studio is faster and more stable than similar products written in C++ or Java. The learning curve is shorter too - Omnis Studio is a very intuitive development tool that doesn't require much training before you are up and running. Another advantage is that the system requirements are less using Omnis Studio than Java software.
